About Me

Welcome! My name is Victor Dong, and I am currently a sophomore in the mechE and physics undergrad program at Northeastern. I'm passionate about transforming innovative ideas into tangible solutions that make a real-world impact. With hands-on experience in designing electric cars, developing robotics systems, and building custom 3D printers, I thrive solving multidisciplinary problems.

Currently, I serve as the Suspension Lead for Northeastern Electric Racing, where I oversee the development and manufacturing of our 2024 car's suspension system. My role focuses on optimizing vehicle handling through advanced design of brakes, hubs, and knuckles, supported by dynamic simulation software to inform key design decisions.

My engineering journey is deeply rooted in sustainability. I've dedicated time to minimizing environmental impact by optimizing 3D printer designs to reduce plastic waste. Additionally, my work with Essex IQ and Millburn Robotics allowed me to mentor aspiring engineers, fostering a new generation of problem-solvers through robotics education and engineering mentorship.

Beyond competitive engineering, I’ve contributed to meaningful projects like the Ocean Sustainability Initiative, where I helped create interactive exhibits educating young students on plastic pollution, and Agro-Robotics Research, designing soil-penetrating robots for agricultural data collection.

With a diverse skill set in CAD, CNC machining, mechanical design, electronics, and programming languages like Java and C++, I am always eager to tackle new challenges to make a meaningful impact.
